Rice Krispies ... Squeeky Style

Assalaamu Alaikum :)

End of the weekend mubarak!!! ..... umm, don't ask.

So, it was Sunday evening ... and Squeeky had a craving for some dessert. But the unthinkable happened. There was no dessert in the household! Her mind was spinning ... her heart was aching ... what was she to do without evening dessert?

It felt like the world was crashing around her :(

Her brother was too busy on the computer to go out and buy her a hot fudge sundae so she figured, if anything had to be done, she would have to do it herself! After rummaging through the cupboards, she found a packet of halal marshmallows and had an idea! Why not make rice krispie squares? There was more than enough Rice Krispies. So out came all the ingredients and voila, it was made :) Even though it still looked tempting ... Squeeky just had to make it a bit more special. There was still some vanilla icing left so she carefully spread it upon the thick layer of rice krispies and to her satisfaction, it did not look so bad.

It's my cousin's birthday tomorrow insha'Allah so we called him over and offered it as a pre-birthday sweet. He liked it! yay.

Rice Krispie Squares ... with icing!

P.S. - I'm bored.

I like to put marshmallows in the microwave just to watch them get really big before they blow up...

Now I want marshmallows. They don't actually taste like anything, but the idea of having something halal that's usually haram is enticing :)

That's one tasty-looking Rice Krispie square thanks to the icing. I was never terribly fond of Rice Krispie squares as a child but always loved the cereal... snap, crackle, pop.

Yummy!

I like what Asmaa said "They don't actually taste like anything, but the idea of having something halal that's usually haram is enticing" - maybe that's why I like them so much when I can actually find a halal one ... which is why I ate like 15 at that RIS conference .. and then felt like a pig.. which isn't really a halal feeling if you think about it :S

I'm fond of junk food... just in small doses. I like Doritos chips... Mars chocolate bars... the small little milk chocolate eggs wrapped in different coloured wrapping... little cupcakes... donuts... :)

I make donut runs at 2am on occasion at Country Style Donuts... I find that their donuts are better than Tim Hortons' since they're bigger and have more variety. I also don't ocnsider donuts to be junk food. It's just great food - period. :)

Nauman:
Awww ... you like Mars Bars! I loove them. I should post an entry on how exactly I eat chocolate bars. It's weird :S Thanks for the idea! And I approve of your list. Donuts are very addicting, I'll eat them but always with the thought of "how much weight will I gain by the end of the week" haha Hmm, I have to make cupcakes soon too, my mom wants me to get rid of the ingredients ...
Roooooqster:
You and your pictures! Aww! Thanks a bunch. Insha'Allah that will be my dessert for my wedding, a huge rice krispie ... what do you all think?
Mayya:
You're such a sweetie haha and funny :) Noo way, my mom does appreciate that I enjoy baking/cooking but she'll complain about other things :P
Sarah:
That's one thing that makes me sad. All your work is gone in a matter of hours :( (hence the picture taking) But there is satification when the people that are brave enough to eat your food are happy and insha'Allah there is barakah in it as well :D
