NOT from ATKINSON

Assalaamu Alaikum :)

Oh what a lovley day, alhamdulillah!

Even though the weather wasn't, but ... oh well. I acted a bit rebellious today. I know, me from all people. My dear friend Wahiba and I decided to skip tutorial *gasp* I never skip until I really have to but this was just a spur of the moment idea because we had just left the MSA after praying salaat and realized there was only two more minutes for tutorial to begin and the building was quite far from where we were. Since we don't do anything too important during tutorial, we decided ... why not just skip one class? And besides, these are my last few weeks at York, I needed to do something out of the ordinary for myself teehehe

NOT from Atkinson

It seems to be election time at York, especially for one of the colleges, Atkinson. So there are students EVERYWHERE representing Atkinson and asking everyone that passes by, "are you from Atkinson?" I was asked this same question about 20 times or more. It was getting annoying! That's when I said "I feel like carrying a sign that says that I am not from Atkinson *grr*" That's when Wahiba came in with post-its! haha As you can see from the image above, we wrote "NOT from ATKINSON" and stuck it on our jackets. So whenever we would be asked that same question, we would look at them, point at our sign, and carry on muahaha. Let's just say, it amused a lot of people.

My York Sweatshirt

I have this need to buy a whole bunch of York memorabilia. Just some things I can have to reflect on the good 'ol days *sigh* So we bought sweatshirts!! I really like mine, soo soft. Wahiba and I are planning on attending the Qiraatul Qur'an Competition on March 25th (that is, if anyone from York will represent us) ... perfect time to show our school spirit!

Yorkie Bottle!!

And we cannot forget about Red. Red is my balloon that was floating in the sky, waiting for me to take it. Awwww. And lastly, my Yorkie Water Bottle ... it just looks too cool.

Great idea about the post-it note, I've been asked if I was from Atkinson too many times today too lol.

And I LOVE the red sweater, I need to get myself a York one too for memories .."sigh".. I'm thinking white, but I don't want to get it dirty :S

'Liya:
Wahiba and I are selling them for a dollar, but since you're cool, we'll give them to you for 50 cents ;) hehe
Umar:
I'm a bit worried about Wahiba, she 'says' that she has told both of us of how she met you (through my blog) but I don't knowww
...kidding! I love you Weebzie!!
Weebzie:
haha thanks for adding more memories to my York collection ;) More ice cream next time!!

You skipped one class? No wait, a tutorial. And therefore you're now finally ready to leave university and conquer the world? Tsk Squeeky, be a little more adventurous!

It's funny how you're so loyal to your university. Don't mind me: I'm just bitter because U of T is such a money-consuming machine that I don't want to buy anything from them that I don't need :P

I don't know why people bash York all the time, I think it is such a delightful school :D I need to represent.
And goshdarnit, you make me want to be more rebellious before it's too late!!

I wrote an email message a few years ago regarding Ontario universities with the last line being "Your friend is transferring out of York - enough said"... this despite the fact that my dad got his degree from York. :)

That's a nice red sweatshirt. I might have to get one too though I don't know if I want to represent Ryerson...

Skipping a tutorial isn't bad at all... I don't even remember a time when I actually attended one of those unless there were marks involved. Then again, I don't go to class much as it is. :(

Squeeky, I'm too cheap to pay 50 cents so I'll just tape a piece of paper to me instead of using one of your ready made post-its :D

and Nauman you might need to update that email you did. I know a lot of people who've transfered to York and love it here.

A long time ago, yes, I wrote that email and sent it out. I didn't realize that it would get distributed around so quickly and so far. I remember one Sunday morning at 8am when a friend of mine called me up and said "Nauman, sorry to call you this early but I thought you might want to know this: I just got your 'university' email from a few other people... this thing is spreading like crazy!" My response to that was "oh, that's nice, okay, I'm going back to sleep." :)

Yeah, my dad went to York several years ago (he did his degree concurrently with a job). I used to go with him on occasion to York. My older cousin went there too so I got to see him as well. In my first few years of university, I used to be at York on occasion for RIS meetings, GTA-MSA meetings, etc... I haven't been to York though in around 2 years I think.

Now I feel like reading that email again. Ohh so you're at Ryerson, I was there for a bit on Monday :) visiting my cousin, it's tradition haha It reminds me of a higschool awww My sister went to York, so I followed in her footsteps when I didn't want to, and my brother, well ... he's at Secena at York so that's almost the same ... hmm.

Speaking of sleep, I'm lacking it unfortunately, going to make up for it this weekend insha'Allah *sigh*

Maybe I should send that email out again... it's been a while since I sent that out.

I was at Ryerson on Monday... it's one of the very few days where I'm actually at Ryerson. I spent the whole day though in classes or dealing with group meetings.

Sleep is good. I need some myself.
