Bye Bye Celly
Assalaamu Alaikum :)
My dad finally did it ... he convinced me to change my cell phone service provider to Rogers from Bell Mobility *sigh* The reason is that everyone in my family is with Rogers, except for myself. Which was fine with me because in a way, I always wanted to get away from Bell but I held on because my number would change if I were to switch companies. And the bill for keeping numbers has not really been passed yet. I believe at the moment, only businesses have the option of keeping their numbers. Anyways, not only did my phone number change, but so did my cell phone :(
I was in love with my old phone ... because it was small, silver, and just so cute. And it was an Audiovox but I didn't care, I don't need too much in my phones ... I just need to like them, and feel that 'bond' with them. Umm, yeah.
So my current phone, which I have already nicknamed Knight Rider is the Samsung p207
It is offered in White as well but I chose the black since it seemed very different. I like it, don't get me wrong. I just need to get used to it. What I did was teehehe since I'm going to miss my old phone terribly, I took a picture of it with my camera in the phone and placed it as my wallpaper! Aww! The thing is, I don't really work well with change, it's a problem and I'm working on it! It's my brother who I feel sorry for because I go straight to him if I have complaints about my new phone not having certain things that my old phone had.
for example ............
HOW DOES AN ALARM NOT HAVE A SNOOZE OPTION?!
I always use my alarm and realizing that this phone does not provide me with a 'snooze option' has been really getting to me haha I just wanna cry.
Yes, these are the kinds of dilemmas I go through. But overall, as I have been exploring with the phone options, it's been growing on me. So far so good! So, thank you daddy :)
G'day!
Fi-aman'Allah

I know what you mean! I got a new phone recently after 4 years of having the same one and I'm still not used to it. It IS much nicer than my old one and it's pretty and cute but it's just not the same.
I do like your phone's nickname :D I call mine Iglooman - which probably isn't correct in some way but it has Vancouver Olympic symbol (for the next Winter Olympics) ..
I've gone through 6-7 phones and *NEVER* have I named any of them... what is it with girls and naming things... oh well.
The Samsung P207 is a good phone but I decided to get my dad the Nokia 6101 instead because it has an FM Radio built-in... my dad loves that feature.
Either way, mubaarak on the phone.
can't you keep your old phone and just change the SIM card?
She was with Bell before and Bell doesn't use SIM cards (only Rogers and Fido use that because they're GSM-phones... Bell and Telus use different variations of CDMA technology instead)
Assalaamu Alaikum :)
'liya:
I'm glad someone can relate to me *deep sigh* And Iglooman is soo adorable, I'm sure it suits your phone very well! Oh! and I got the knightrider ringtone too hahaha It's makes me laugh. But my Simpsons theme tune is the best :D
Nauman:
tsk tsk ... there is a first for everything so I suggest you keep a name for your celly. I'm telling you, you'll 'feel' much closer to it ...... and 6-7 phones??? This is my 4th :)
Umar:
Uhh ... what Nauman said. And besides, I needed a new phone anyway because my old one fell once and now if it falls again, it screws up :( So I must accept the change!
HAHA. Knight Rider. Awesome.
I call my phone the Nokia 6820... it's so original and clever... :)
Some people call my phone the Transformer because it has a QWERTY keyboard that flips open. It's a great phone - had it for a year now. :)
Yeah, I've been through a lot of phones just because I've had the ability to do it over the years - Nokia 6188 (Clearnet), Sanyo SCP-4000 (Clearnet/Telus), Nokia 3390 (Fido), Nokia 3590 (Rogers), Nokia 3595 (Rogers), Nokia 3220 (Rogers), Nokia 6820 (Rogers)... I feel like I'm missing a couple off this list though.
You are soooo funny... and I am totally like that too... i LOVED my first phone... the telus samsung phone...i still have it :) And if i had gotten a cameraphone then i woulda taken a pic of it too! Don't worry you'll learn to love her too.. in time.. inshAllah!
Yeahhh mine was a clearnet phone too... i loved the feature where u could dial the last 4 digits and it'd call the number...
Oh man, I loved my first phone. It was one of the most popular Motorolas in it's time...the v60. After that I got the t720, and now I currently have the v710. Motorola is the way to go. Was thinking of getting the RAZR, but there's no point in switching really cuz I'm comfortable with my current phone. And I'm totally not feeling the new SLVR...for me, it's gotta be a flip.
Hello Moto. ;-)
Sunita:
hehe I knew you'd like that ;)
Nauman:
My goodness, how original! haha Oh wow, you really seem to love your Nokia. Maybe I should try that one day.
Sarah:
aww Salaam hun! I don't know why but I've always wanted to be with Telus.
Rooqster:
hahaha the "hellomoto" makes me laugh so much! My dad just got a Motorola phone and it makes me laugh, I like to say "Hello Motu" (hello fatty). And I like flips too!
Anyways, I just realized that my sent text messages don't tell me what time I sent them, nor the date. Isn't that ridiculous?? Okay, I'm just going to stop complaining .. be thankful for what you have Squeeky :D
sony-ericsson phones havent got enough volume. i'm so deaf and i can never hear what anyone is saying. bah. cell phones, its all a trick of the jews.
lol @ snooze option! does it work for you? its actually torturous for me, if I push the snooze option the 7 mins are spent in pure agony with closed eyes knowing that the alarm will ring very very soon :s
AP:
tsk tsk that is so disappointing. My brother has that walkman phone thingy. My fave ring tone that he has is called 'hide and seek' haha i get him to play it all the time, makes me laugh.
Mayya:
Well in a way it does work, I don't trust myself with only one alarm. If I wake up late, I panic :S
Hey Squeeks, have you seen this?
