Blinky *sigh*
Assalaamu Alaikum :D
I'm all panicky.
This morning, I went to my fish, Blinky, to feed him. As I was doing so, I noticed that his behaviour was more strange than usual. Usually, he starts swimming around frantically and when he sees me, he gets into his "attitude" mode. I have been meaning to take a picture of that but it's been difficult. Anyways, he was not swimming around, rather he was just moving from one end to the other very slowly. When I sprinkled some food ... I noticed something quite puzzling. Blinky has some sort of bump under his neck. I have never seen it there before! And it's getting me worried. I showed my brother to make sure I wasn't seeing anything and he noticed it too.
I'm getting worried :(

The pictures make me want to cry *sniffle*I've been praying that it is not too serious, insha'Allah. It's a male fish, not like it is pregnant because it's been a loner in that tank since I got him. Unless he's able to impregnate himself, eeh. Maybe I should visit my local Pet Store? Does anyone else own Beta fishes? Also known as fighter fish. Hmm. Blinky is at least supposed to last until my birthday in June! I got him on my birthday :(

Inshallah, he'll be okay... it's always possible he's just maturing and developing new traits and abilities. Either way, he'll be fine. :)
Hope it's nothing too serious inshallah. Curious, did you name him after the three-eyed fish from The Simpsons?
uh.. go to the pet store and get some medication.
I had Angelfishes that started developing white spots on their fins and tails... so I got this medication to put into the water and the spots went away.

I had a betta (i called him Baita) that was soo masha'Allah beautiful red n blue colors.. he was my 1st fishy! but sadly.. he didn't live to even 1 yr old.. bachara passed away from tail rot.. then I was sad, got another betta (Baita #2) and he also died from Tail Rot.. so i was heart-broken and no more fishies for me :_(

Thanks for the links! I actually did look it up (with my sister's help) and we discovered that Blinky may have a tumor :O Insha'Allah I plan to get him checked out! Was supposed to today but wasn't able to *sigh*

anyways, the beta fish i got from the reception was like that too.
Just clean the bowl, and don't feed it for a couple of days..
