Baaaa Baaaaa

Assalaamu Alaikum :D

I'm so excited! Care to know why? Welll ... last night, the family got together for some bonding time and decided to clean the basement! Ooh la la and ewww. But, I was well rewarded for my work down there. I found slippers! Slippers that have sheep heads on them! Over the summer my parents bought a mattress from Sleep Country Canada and with the mattress, we received many free items. One of them being, slippers. I think they're completely adorable and I was so excited to try them out. Not only are they cute ... but they're sooo comfy! Just wearing them makes me wanna drop and sleep ... zZzZzzz's ....

I hope you were all enlightened with today's post ....

~*Eid Mubarak*~

Assalaamu Alaikum :D

E I D M U B A R A K !

I'm sad ... because Ramadan is over, once again, in a heartbeat. But I'm happy because Eid-ul-Fitr is upon us once again ... yay! A day for us to be rewarded for the fasts we kept, for the ibaadah that we did for Allah Swt and for controlling our nafs ... alhamdulillah.

I love the Eids in our family. All the families come together and spend the entire day with one another. It really is the most beautiful experience, just being around your loved ones. And the mood is always so serene and cozy. Also, I miss the ones that are not here with us, but they're in our memories and sometimes, a phone call away :) My most favourite part, is seeing my cute little cousins and my cousin's children in their best clothing. haha Ya Allah, may Allah Swt preserve their sweet innocense! Usually the night before, I'm the mehndi (henna) lady haha If I have the time, I'll apply it on all the girlies in the family or just my mum and then do mine for last. It excites me more than anything haha Mehndi is my art.

I also look forward to the food on Eid. Particularily, Sheer Khorma. It's the most sweestest dish ever and it's very drool-worthy. I feel sorry for anyone who has not been given the beautiful opportunity of tasting it. Mummy makes it every year ... I wanted to do it this time but school got so hectic right at the last week that I was unable to *sigh* Basically, it is very sweet milk syrup with stringy vermicelli. Then you top it off with assorted nuts for crunchy flavour. Served Hot ... mmm ... *drool* Here it is ....

Some people have already celebrated Eid on Thursday, others are doing it today, on Friday. But no matter when you did it, I pray that you all had a wonderful day with your loved ones and have reflected on the past month. Insha'Allah Allah Swt will accept our fasts and our efforts and we will be able to keep up with our practices and bettering ourselves as Muslims each and every day. Ameen!
