*Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji'oon*

Assalaamu Alaikum

Just found out that one of my cousin's from Hyderabad ... her husband passed away today :( And I am just overwhelmed with sadness at the moment because I know that she has had a very difficult life, it is her second husband. This one, had treated her the way a woman should be treated by her husband masha'Allah ... and now, he's gone.

My du'as go out to him, that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala may pardon his sins, save him from the punishments of the grave and bless him with a beautiful spot in the highest ranks of Jannat-ul-Firdos, ameen. And my du'as go out to my cousin and her little 10 year old daughter and the rest of the family, anyone who has been affected. May Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala grant them Sabr and ease during this very difficult time and make this experience help them to increase their Imaan ... Ameen.

Du'as would be great appreciated ... JazaakAllahu khairaa ... may Allah bless you all

Get 'em Out!!

Assalaamu Alaikum :D

There have been squirrels in our roof. For the past week. I thought there was only one but apparently, there might be a family. *sigh*. First the birds, now this. Please, someone ... get them out of there, they're so annoying. All you hear is them scurrying about and moving things around. Mummy says they're moving their furniture around, getting themselves nicely settled in. eeeeeep

Although, the squirrels seem to be mainly in the area above my parent's bedroom ... the attic door is by my bedroom and that's where the trap was placed :( I'm scared!! I wanted to take a picture of the trap ... it's big and scary looking. Poor squirrels ... but yeesh ... the roof of a house is not a home for you guys! Off with you ... please!

What scared me was when our neighbor told us if you don't get them out soon and if they happen to die up there ... their stench is the worst! NoOoOoOo, stinky home!!

Hmm ... well at least they're not racoons I suppose ... *shudder* Anyhooz, here's a silly cartoon I found.

Best Time for Du'a

Assalaamu Alaikum :D

May these be beneficial to all of you and may Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala accept each and every one of your du'as that are being done with sincere intentions. Ameen.

Late at night:
When people are sleeping and busy with worldy pleasures, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala gives the believers an opportunity, or an answer hour if they can fight sleep and invoke Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala for whatever they need.

The Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: 'There is at night an hour, no Muslim happens to be asking Allah any matter of this world or the Hereafter, except that he will be given it, and this (occurs) every night.' [Muslim #757]

Middle of the night:
The Messenger (Peace and Blessing be upon him) said: "The Gates of Heaven are open at midnight, and a caller calls, 'Is there a supplicant that his supplication may be granted? Is there a petitioner that his petition maybe granted? Is there a distressed person so that his distress may be removed?' At that time, no Muslim makes a du'a but that it is answered, except for an adulteress who trades with her body, or a person who gathers his money unlawfully." [Sahih al-Jami' 2968]

Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anhu) narrated that Allah's messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: 'In the last third of every night our Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer: Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala) descends to the lowermost heaven and says; "Who is csalling Me, so that I may answer him? Who is asking Me so that may I grant him? Who is seeking forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?" [Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith Qudsi]

At the time of Azaan and between it and the Iqamah:
The Messenger (Peace and Blessings Be upon Him) said: "A du'a between athaan and the iqamah is not refused, so make du'a at that time." [Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban]

The Messenger (Peace and Blessing Be upon Him) said: "Two kinds of du'a are not rejected - or rarely are they rejected - du'a at the time of the call for prayer, and du'a at the time of fighting when the warriors are engaged with each other." [Abu Dawud]

On Friday after 'Asr The Messenger (Peace and Blessings Be upon Him) said: "Friday has twelve periods. Among them is a period when no Muslim asks Allah for anything but He grants it to him. Search for that period late after 'Asr." [Sahihal-Jami' 8402]

When it is raining:
The Messenger (Peace and Blessings Be upon Him) said: "Two kinds of du'a are not rejected: du'a at the time of the call for prayer, and du'a during rain." [Abu Dawud]

Being a parent, while fasting and while travelling:
The Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: "Three types of du'a are undoubtedly granted: a parent's du'a for his children, du'a of a fasting person, and du'a of the traveller." [Abu Dawud]

While Making Sujood:
The Prophet (Peace and Blessings Be upon Him) said: "The servant is closest to his Lord while in sujud, so ask Allah in that time."

Laylatul-Qadr:
Aisha (RA) asked the Prophet (Peace and Blessings Be upon Him) what should I say on Laylatil-qadr? And he replied, O Allah, indeed you are a Pardoner, and you love pardon; so pardon me.

An Hour on Friday:
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anhu): Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) talked about Friday and said: 'There is an hour on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salaah (prayer) and asks something from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, then Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will definitely meet his demand.' And he (the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam)) pointed out the shortness of that particular time with his hands. [Sahih al-Bukhari]

Some have said that this hour is from the time the Imam (prayer's leader) enters the mosque on Friday's prayer until the prayer is over (ie between the two khutbas), whereas others have said that it is the last hour of the day (ie after the Asr prayer until the Maghrib prayer)Note - when it said by 'hour', it does not mean the hour everyone knows (60 minutes) but an unspecified period of time because the time counters which is used today came after the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) had died.

Choco Cake *mmm*

Assalaamu Alaikum :D

Choco Cake

It's finally done ... that chocolate cake that I have been meaning to make all summer is finally completed! ALHAMDULILLAH! haha I don't understand what took me so long, I guess it just wasn't meant to be made until now.

I made it on Friday so I wrote "Jummah Mubarak" on it (thanks for the idea hehe) I was incredibly giddy throughout the whole process of baking this cake. I don't know why, something's wrong with me but I looooove baking! When it came out of the oven ... so far so good, looks good, had to wait to frost it up. Then came the taste test ... *scream* I always get mummy to have the first taste, she has to taste everything I bake haha So when I gave her a little piece ... she started teasing me! She kept making faces ... first, a thinking face ... then a confused face ... then an expression that was telling me that it sucked :( But ... she gave me the hand sign indicating that it was actually good. Awww ... I succeed once again ... woo hoo

Now, I feel bad presenting this cake to the people who are reading this and not even offering, so since you obviously can't taste my yummy cake (aww sowie!) ... I am still offering. So ... have a piece!

In other news ... school has begun and I'm having an oh so great time :) Missed York so much. AND, I bought my Dish Chair .... I'm in love ....

Dish Chair!
